David Haye next for Wladimir Klitschko

Klitschko's say the IBF and WBO, "I forced of tomorrow's defence against Derek Chisora with a torn abdominal muscle, is targeting a spring showdown with Haye".

David Haye's advised Wembley or Las Vegas as the venue, he said: "At last it seems to have got through to Klitshcko that I mean what I say and that I'll be sticking to my retirement plan of quitting boxing next November when I'll be 31. There isn't a career-defining fight on his record and, along with the money, that's why he wants to step into the ring with me next. They seem to have come to their senses and changed their position, but I know negotiations will be difficult."

But Chisora want will still get a shot before David Haye at Klitschko and he said, "We've a clause in our contract saying the fight is going to happen anyway. He's going to have to fight me."

David Haye will escape punishment but will be reprimanded for Audley Harrison bet claim

David Haye will escape punishment from the British Boxing Board after secretary Robert Smith accepted the world heavyweight champion’s public volte-face on Monday that he had not placed a bet on himself in his demolition of Audley Harrison.

It has been predicted on the ring by British Boxing Board that the manner of Haye’s third-round victory at the MEN Arena in Manchester and Haye’s suggestion in his post-fight interview had prompted the Boxing Board to investigate claims that the World Boxing Association heavyweight champion had placed a bet on himself to knock Harrison out in the third round.

It is forbidden for boxers to place bets on themselves and Haye is likely receive a letter of reprimand from the Board.

After hearing Haye’s clarification on Monday, Smith said the board had accepted the boxer’s explanation. “I didn’t physically go into a betting shop and say, ’here’s x amount of money’. What I did say was I would knock Audley out in three rounds. If he came out earlier I would have knocked him out earlier . My prediction was the third round and I told a lot of people that,” Haye explained.

David Haye retained his title by defeat Harrison

Harrison was defeated with tears after David Haye finished his career in the ring.

The mockery fighter needs time to reproduce on his uncomfortable third round defeat in Manchester but will never be taken seriously again after landing just one punch.

David Haye Denies The Rumour By Audley Harrison's

Audley Harrison's said that "David was floored in sparring and insists his challenger is completely deluded". He further added in his conversation that "the WBA heavyweight champ had been downed by American southpaw Tony Thompson in training."

The David Haye in reply said that "This is all rumour and Harrison, 39, is desperately seizing on gossip to attract the attention of his fans and people ahead of their November 13 showdown at Manchester's MEN Arena."

Haye, 30, said: "It's a myth, but I'm hoping Audley takes it on board.

"He's looking for things to give him a mental advantage and if he wants to believe that I got knocked down sparring, then he can believe it.

"Tell him I got knocked down 500 times if that makes him feel better, as he's going to get in the ring with me and he's going to get knocked out.

"All you have to do is look at my record. I've had 25 fights and at no stage has someone hit me with one shot and KO'd me."

Haye says 2000 Olympic champion Harrison has no chance against him.

David Haye: James Toney not fussed by David Haye's bull****

James Toney has told David Haye that he doesn't pay any attention to his bull****, and he is ready to prove the British boxer wrong when he fights Randy Couture at UFC 118.

Toney is taking the leap from boxing, where he was once an IBF champion, into mixed martial arts when he takes on Hall of Famer Randy Couture in Boston.

David Haye has trained with Michael Bisping in the past and helabelled Toney 'delusional' for setting foot inside the Octagon. Bernard Hopkins has also mocked the 41 year old's chances, claiming he will 'get his ass kicked', but Toney is adamant he will shut both men up on August 28.

He said, "I don't like neither one of them anyway so it don't matter". "I don't care about the boxing community. I care about James Toney. It's about James Toney and Randy Couture. It's not about James Toney and boxing and James Toney and MMA.

"This is James Toney and Randy Couture so for Bernard he can go somewhere and get his damn teeth fixed. And David Haye, he's gay. I don't care about none of that. So they can just listen to all their bull****."

David Haye fight Audley Harrison with Klitschkos

World Boxing Association David Haye heavyweight champion but the Londoner’s career has hit a cul-de-sac in current months.

Yesterday, it thumped into a brick wall when the Klitschko brothers, Vitali and Wladimir, both heavyweight champions, lined up alternative opponents for the autumn.
The prospect of Haye versus Audley Harrison, waiting in the wings yet with an air of pantomime about it, grows ever more probably. The fight itself is not to much, which Haye ought to win resoundingly, but the groans that will accompany its announcement. Harrison has flattered to deceive for a decade since he won the Olympic super heavyweight gold medal in Sydney.
It is not so much that Harrison is on borrowed time. That ran out long ago. With former world champion Shannon Briggs, of Brownsville, New York, claiming on Thursday that he has signed to take on the World Boxing Council belt holder, Vitali, in October, the Klitschkos revealed that the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organisation champion, Wladimir, will meet Samuel Peter in a rematch on September 11.
It leaves Haye frozen out, having not fought since his second WBA title defence in April against the American John Ruiz, who promoter Bob Arum told me currently has become “a pay-not-to-view” fighter.
It leaves Haye with the prospect of fighting Harrison, the European champion, former cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek would represent a credible alternative.
If Juan Manuel Marquez retains the World Boxing Organisation lightweight title by beating Juan Diaz in their rematch of the 2009 fight of the year tonight in Las Vegas, he is probably to will step up to light welterweight to meet Amir Khan, the World Boxing Association champion on December 11. Khan will be ringside at the fight.
However, Marquez said yesterday that he is also pursuing a third fight with Manny Pacquiao. So far, it is one draw, and one win to Pacquiao.

David Haye must think about himself before taking on Klitschkos. Tyson

Mike Tyson says that David Haye should think about himself in the heavyweight division before taking on the Klitschkos.

Tyson, one of the most famous heavyweights in boxing history, told Sky Sports that current WBA champion Haye needs more experience before at attractive to unify the titles.

"He's good, he's a good fighter," said the 45-year-old. "He has to make himself as a champion.

"He has to establish himself and then fight the Klitschkos."

"I don't have anything in the future that I want - I just want to raise my kids and pay my bills," he added.

"Why would I want to be a manager or promoter? They only steal your money, at least that's my experience, and why would I want to do that?

"I'm not interested in getting back in the ring, not at all. I'm pretty much a pacifist as much as anything now.

"As long my kids respect me and call me 'Dad' and not by my first name, I'm happy."

TO STEP IT UP TIME FOR DAVID HAYE

Here is an article I read in the Sun yesterday and it made me really wonder what the hell is Haye doing? He’s ran his mouth about the Klitschkos and it’s surely time to step it up everybody is calling for it. Wladimir Klitschko has already scheduled a fight in September with Alexander Povetkin so there’s only Vitali for Haye to fight. What happens if that fight falls through? In my opinion there is nobody that he will be respected for fighting other than these two guys. Another point I picked up on from Maloney’s article is that David seems to be staying out of the spotlight a lot considering he is usually such a publicity guy who loves all the attention. Could this possibly be a publicity stunt to build publicity? If so then I fear he could be loosing respect from fans as the days go by. It’s almost been 4 months since Haye beat Ruiz and we have heard absolutely nothing except from rumors about who Haye is going to be facing next. So the questions I would like to ask are…Has anyone heard the latest from the man himself? What next for Haye if Vitali chooses another opponent? How do you feel Haye will cope against Vitali if a fight is scheduled? And finally, what do you feel Haye is doing by taking himself out of the spotlight?

TIME FOR DAVID HAYE TO STEP IT UPWHAT NEXT? ...

Frank Maloney fears David Haye could be left in limboFRANK MALONEY fears David Haye could damage his career if he does not step up his fight schedule. Haye, 29, won the WBA heavyweight title last November but has defended it just once since ripping it from Nikolai Valuev's grasp. He looked impressive against John Ruiz in April and appeared to be on collision course with the Klitschko brothers. However, talks with Wladimir Klitschko stalled and fellow Brit Audley Harrison could now face the Hayemaker instead in November. Haye does not believe his fellow Londoner deserves a title shot but Maloney is worried the man he promoted during his cruiserweight days could be left in the cold if he does not take the fight. Maloney said: "If I was still representing David, being a young fighter I would have cashed in a bit quicker and made him busier. "He's a breath of fresh air for the heavyweight division and the media like him. "But sometimes when you stay out of sight you get forgotten a bit. "You can't fault what he's done. No one expected him to win the world heavyweight title and he's made one defence. "Three fights a year is good for a heavyweight. That's what we aimed for with Lennox Lewis. "But it's also about staying in the public eye. If I was David I'd be banging the drum and making sure I was in the papers for the right reasons. "I'm not saying he's lazy but a champion has to be visible and talk up the sport."

David Haye: Nowhere to turn

Well they talked the talk but the walk was surely lacking.
Despite Wladimir Klitschko’s ominous warning on YouTube and threats to turn David Haye’s face into a pizza, and “The Hayemaker’s” selection of disparaging T-shirts, “Dr Steelhammer” has chosen Alexander Povetkin as his next opponent.
The recent trend in boxing is clearly top fighters avoiding each other. It must be vogue for them to ignore one another and act like they don’t exist, which somehow enforces their own self belief that there is no one out there who can challenge them. In fact rumour has it that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather were at Miguel Cotto’s birthday party the other weekend and ruined a game of pass the parcel with their cold shouldering.
Clearly the fans don’t matter anymore, the competition of the sport doesn’t matter anymore and fighters don’t care about their legacies anymore. Oh no, wait, here comes Audley Harrison. Haye v Harrison - fantastic, that’s the world-championship bout we have been waiting for.
You have to wonder if it’s worth having all these belts flying around, because all it does is prevent the fights people want to look happening. One champion in one division would be the way forward; it’s not going to happen though.
The reasons are unclear why the Haye Klitschko fight hasn’t happened. Did Haye wanted too big a split of the purse? The Klitschko’s are notorious in their stern contract negotiations, but perhaps The Hayemaker should have just relented this one time. All parties seemed keen so we have been denied by administration once more.
Haye has to realise that he is the new kid on the block. The Klitschkos have been round for a long time, regardless of the quality of the opponents that they have fought and so Haye needs to compromise if he wants to achieve his dream of unifying the division.
If they are demanding a 40-60 split or whatever, take it, beat them, and then demand the reverse for a rematch or the other brother. Right now it’s about proving that Haye is the best in the division and so he should settle for now and demand later.
It doesn’t look good after the collapse of their scheduled fight a year ago, which may have been due in part to the folding of Setanta Sports, who Haye was contracted to and thus wouldn’t have got paid much. It’s understandable that you would want maximum coin for challenging one of these Ukrainian juggernauts, but The Hayemaker needs to be more accommodating in his negotiations if he genuinely wants to unify the division.
Haye has the charisma, showmanship and style to actually shake up this awful, turgid division that is the heavyweights, so it’s massively disappointing to see this sort of thing happening. Potentially he could be a global star, but in many people’s eyes he’s going to be seen as someone who ducks fights. Obviously it takes two to make a fight happen and perhaps the blame belongs with the Klitschkos, but as the new boy it’s the Londoner who will get the fingers pointed at him.
It’s a huge shame boxing is going like this what with the Mayweather and Pacquiao farce as well, all this bravado and no substance, it gets boring. As a sport it’s losing out quite a bit to MMA and these big fights capture people’s attention and bring back the casual fan. Instead we are left with one-sided matches.
To be fair Klitschko v Povetkin could be a decent bout for keen boxing fans. Poor old Povetkin, at least Haye wandered in and got a title shot relatively fast. Povetkin’s been waiting two whole years for it, he’s unbeaten and a worthy contender, but I think most people would rather look Haye fight.
With Vitali busy with Nicolay Valuev, it leaves Haye with basically a choice between Ruslan Chagaev, Evander Holyfield or Thomas Adamek. The only one of them worth watching would be Adamek but then you’ve basically got two cruiserweights fighting at heavy, which seems a bit wrong, but it would be an entertaining blend of styles.
It’ll be Harrison though. What a sorry state of affairs.

RSR Breaking News: David Haye Will Face Audley Harrison in November

RSR was just informed that current WBA Heavyweight Champion, David Haye, 24-1, 22 KO’s, has just agreed to fight Audley Harrison, 27-4, 20 KO’s, in his second defense of the heavyweight title. It has long been rumored that Haye will take on Wladimir Klitschko, the current WBO/IBO/IBF Heavyweight Champion, but has opted to take on fellow British heavyweight Harrison.

Harrison has put together four straight victories over nondescript opposition since his latest defeat and this will be his first title opportunity. There were high hopes for Harrison when he began his career, even getting the nod from Lennox Lewis as the next great heavyweight, but he never accomplished it. He would lose dreadfully to Dominick Guinn, get stopped by Michael Sprott, and lose to Danny Williams. Harrison, to his credit, has avenged the losses to Sprott and Williams, but will be the long shot to defeat Haye on the 13th of November.

US Promoter talks up David Haye v Audley Harrison Battle of Britain clash

David Haye's US promoter Golden Boy has been talking up the prospect of a Battle of Britain clash with Audley Harrison.

Golden Boy ceo Richard Schaefer was in London last week working on Haye's next defence of his WBA heavyweight title and says a fight with Harrison would be big box office in the UK.

Sydney gold medallist Harrison has relinquished his European heavyweight title to leave him free to fight Haye and the showdown is being mooted for November 13 at either London's O2 or Manchester's MEN Arena.

Schaefer said: "The British media were telling me that the English fans were pretty excited about Audley Harrison and think that it could become one of the great showdowns between two British fighters.

"They're both very outspoken and very charismatic and so we will see. Ultimately, of course, it will be David and Adam Booth of Hayemaker Promotions dictating which way it's going to go."

McGuigan - Audley could beat Haye

Boxing legend Barry McGuigan believes 2000 Olympic gold medallistAudley Harrison has a chance to beat David Haye if the pair meet later this year (check out the latest boxing markets on stanjames.com).

Haye's manager, Adam Booth, has already admitted a fight between the two British heavyweights could happen.

WBA heavyweight champion of the world Haye is desperate for a shot at either of the Klitschko brothers but so far the two camps have been unable to agree a deal over a potential bout.

Wladamir Klitschko has recently claimed he would turn Haye's face into a "pizza" but as yet the fight still has not been arranged, which could pave the way for the 'A-Force' to take his shot at the Hayemaker.

McGuigan is a shrewd pundit and he feels Harrison has a chance to beat Haye by way of knockout after his last-gasp victory over Michael Sprott.

Sprott had been way ahead on points, yet Harrison landed a sweet punch in the 12th round of the fight to knock his opponent out.

"You can't say he (Harrison) hasn't got a chance," explained McGuigan. "On the strength of the punch that knocked out Sprott, he has a chance against anyone."

Target 2014: Boxing champ David Haye tells Man Utd defender Ferdinand

David Haye has told crocked Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand to focus on the World Cup 2014.
Ferdinand is expected to return from South Africa this week after a knee injury suffered in training ruled him out of the World Cup last weekend. He will be 35 when the next World Cup comes around in Brazil in 2014.
But WBA heavyweight champion Haye, 29, told the Daily Star Sunday: “As soon as I heard about Rio’s injury the thing that came to my mind was when I had my whole world lined up for one night against Klitschko.
“Then, a couple weeks before the world title fight with him, I had to pull out with a back injury. I couldn’t do anything. I thought my world had ended but it has worked out okay for me since, because I won the world title later in the year against Valuev and hopefully the same can happen to Rio. All I wanted to do was lie in a room with the curtains closed, so my thoughts are with him right now because I know what he is going through.
“There’s not much anyone can say to make him feel better and you don’t want to talk to anyone, so I just texted him on the day I heard he had been injured. I told him about my injury a year back and he’s how you expect him to be.
“A lot of things go through your mind, mostly negative. It’s a long time to the next World Cup but what he does have on his side is that he’s a clean living person. He could play on to his mid-thirties and play in another World Cup. He’s not your stereotypical footballer in that you don’t hear about him going out getting caned, drinking in nightclubs until the early hours every weekend and that will work for him.
“I talk to him regularly and I know how much it meant to him. But I think he can still play in another World Cup and he can still become a world champion like me.
“I know how he feels because the same thing happened to me when I got injured in training for Klitschko last year. Rio’s the best in the world at what he does. He’s England’s captain and he was our main guy. He was the last line of defence so it’s a real gutter for England.
“We need someone who is 6ft 3in and up for it. He intimidates players and they don’t want to get tackled by him. But we have got to try to move forward now. He was a good leader of the team, now the others have got to bring their A game.
“But I have got my fingers crossed we can still do it without Rio.
“We both grew up in the same part of east London – he’s from Peckham and I’m from Bermondsey, down the road. Our parents know each other and I knew him as a kid.”

David Haye: David Haye calls for random drug-testing in boxing

David Haye intends to campaign for mandatory Olympic style random drug testing for all world champions.

Adam Booth, his trainer and manager, says the World Boxing Association champion wishes "to use his position as world heavyweight champion to clean up the sport".
Booth said on Tuesday: "People created rumours about David using banned substances when he moved up from cruiserweight to heavyweight, but he would never do that.
"He now feels he wants to use his position to campaign against drug use in the sport. We need to do this from the top down."
Haye's stance follows the call from American welterweight Floyd Mayweather Jnr, who insists that anyone he signs to fight with must now agree to random drug testing.
Haye's next opponent will be announced within a month, according to Booth, with a mid October date scheduled.
Meanwhile, Audley Harrison, a possible opponent, vacated the European heavyweight title on Tuesday.
"We are in discussions with the Klitschkos and Adam Booth and David Haye regarding a world title shot later this year," Harrison's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said. Booth denied Hearn's claim.
Khalid Yafai and Iain Weaver both achieved wins in Moscow on Tuesday which guarantees them medals at the European Amateur Championships.

Haye Wouldn't Last For So Long

VITALI KLITSCHKO claims he would finish off David Haye quicker than his brother Wladimir.

But WBC champion Vitali doubts the Briton will want to fight him - or his sibling - in a world heavyweight title unification clash this year.

Vitali defends his title against Albert Sosnowski in Germany on Saturday and is desperate to then face WBA champ Haye.

Vitali, 38, said: "I promise David Haye that the fight with me would be much shorter than with my brother.

"I will knock him out in two, three or a maximum of four rounds.

"Haye tries to use every excuse why he doesn't want to fight us - but nobody believes him."

John Ruiz quits boxing after defeat to David Haye

Former world heavy weight champion John Ruiz has quit after an 18-year pro career that ended in defeat to David Haye.
He bows out with a record of 44 wins (30KOs), nine losses, one draw and one no contest.
"I've had a great career but it's time for me to turn the page and start a new chapter of my life," said the 38-year-old American.

David Haye: Can He Save the Heavyweight Division?

In the 1990s, boxing was good for the heavyweights and for the fans. Lennox Lewis would come along and clean it out and when there were no other worthy challengers, he retired and left a gap. The gap has been filled by the Klitschko Brothers, Wladimir and Vitali.
Vitali actually had the chance to square off against Lewis in 2003. It was a good fight that Lewis was beginning to win when Vitali suffered a serious cut and fell victim to a TKO stoppage in the sixth round. The courageous performance made Vitali the champ when Lewis retired. The WBC quickly placed him into a title match with Corrie Sanders, a fight he won via TKO in 8. He would vacate the title, retire, and then come back and reclaim it from an uninspired and fat Sam Peter.
Vitali has a record of 39-2, 37 KO’s, a 90% KO rate, and fights regularly, but he has not captured the imagination of the American public. It’s a combination of things. One, the opposition is weak. Vitali benefits and is also hurt by the current crop of heavyweights. Secondly, Vitali fights in a safety first style, controlling the fight and battering his opponents until they quit or collapse. Americans were accustomed to Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield…guys like that, that would go in there and go to war, but Vitali presents something different. It’s similar to the style that Lennox Lewis brought, but Lewis seemed to have more of a heart for ring wars.
The younger brother, Wladimir, has a record of 54-3, 48 KO’s, has an 84% KO rate, and fights regularly. He has also not brought in the masses from the states. His last title fight against the capable Eddie Chambers wasn’t even picked up by HBO, which is basically the home for the Klitschko brothers.
A big part of the reason why the Klitschkos are not as popular as they would be in a competitive division is that nobody thinks that they can lose. They don’t leave anything to chance. They work from the distance, and eventually their power shots will land and end the fight. Sultan Ibragimov, the former WBO Champ, that lost his title to Wlad via UD, wanted to fight but he was so much smaller and wasn’t allowed inside. That is the storyline with many of the Klitschko opponents.
The contenders nowadays lack charisma and with the networks not broadcasting any fights, they enter the ring as unknowns and leave the ring as the same. Tony Thompson, Calvin Brock, Eddie Chambers, Kevin Johnson, Sultan Ibragimov, and Chris Arreola have not inspired the fans and did not put up any effort in the ring to stimulate interest. They didn’t have the charisma or the fighting heart to go after the champions, but there is one man that apparently does.
The WBA Heavyweight Champion, David “Hayemaker” Haye, 24-1, 22 KO’s, ruled the cruiserweight division and then made his way up to the heavyweights, taking out Monte Barrett and earning a crack at the gigantic champion at the time, Nikolay Valuev. Although most were disappointed with the performance of Haye, he did come away with a win and put forth an effective game plan. He moved and did enough to win the title. Valuev is a tough opponent for anyone because of his size and courage and Haye was able to use skill and ring smarts to overcome that.
Recently, Haye took on former 2-Time Champion John Ruiz. Ruiz was 3-3 in his last six fights going into the fight with Haye but could have easily been 6-0 and many contend that he was robbed clearly against Valuev and Ruslan Chagaev. Whether he was or wasn’t, Ruiz was only stopped once in 1996 against David Tua. He altered his style and became a puzzle that most could not solve. Ruiz is a gritty brawler that was a very live dog in the Haye fight…but we found out a lot about the British Champion in his first defense.
Very early in the first round, a one-two put Ruiz on the floor and in serious trouble. Over anxious, Haye fouled Ruiz, hitting him with a rabbit punch. Haye’s excitement may cost him, especially if he gets Wlad into trouble. The last thing that he would want would be to lose an opportunity to stop one of the Klitschkos because of a foul.
Haye would stop Ruiz in nine rounds and that has sent a message. Haye is charismatic, quick, and hits very hard. He has gotten under the skin of both Wlad and Vitali with his antics, including presenting artwork with Haye holding both severed heads of the Klitschko brothers.
Prior to his defense against Tony Thompson, Wladimir was confronted by Haye and told that he was fighting nobodies. Wlad agreed to fight Haye but the Brit would pull out due to promotional problems. Haye would then come close to signing with Vitali but would pull out as well and take on Valuev as well.
The point of all of this is to psychological warfare and it worked. Both brothers seem irritated with Haye, especially Vitali. Another part of the reason why the fights fell apart in the first place was the rumored demands of the Klitschkos. With the WBA belt around his waist, Haye has more bargaining power. It is something that both brothers want in the family and now it’s just a question of which one will go for it.
The frontrunner now is Wladimir. It makes more sense for Haye. Wlad has some weaknesses that could be capitalized on and the public would see it as a risky fight. Rumor has it that they will be fighting in the fall, should they be able to seal the deal. Wlad may be forced to face Alexander Povetkin first, a good heavyweight under the guidance of Teddy Atlas, but he is expected to get through that outing. If Haye becomes a reality, there is a chance of step aside money for Team Povetkin to make the fight possible with the winner being forced to face him in their next fight.
David Haye is what this division needs. He’s charismatic, quick, and hits hard with both hands. He has the style and power to possibly upset the Klitschko brothers and reshape the division. The win against Ruiz reinforced what many thought when he moved up to heavyweight. Haye may go on to rule the division
